No texts/calls from Ken were received by me.
Kids are so disappointed today. Daphnee called Ken and asked could they come over and hang out for a few hours, he said yes. Kenneth called Ken and asked him if he could take him, Julius and Daphnee out for breakfast on Monday April 26th (Kenneth's 14th birthday) at Blueberry Hills in Homewood, he said yes.
Around 1:30pm, the kids and I stopped by the Idlewild house so they could get some stuff there that they need. Julius was upset coming out of the house. He showed me a picture taken with his cell phone of an empty bottle of wine on the counter, one dirty glass in the sink. He was upset that Ken said that he didn't want to see them the night before but that he was drinking.
I took the boys get a haircut at Great Clips and Daphnee got her hair washed. We came home and had an early dinner/late lunch.
Around 4pm, Ken called Kenneth on his cell phone to tell him that he received some advice from someone not to see the kids until Wednesday. Therefore he was canceling Sunday's visit but also Monday's birthday breakfast and all Kenneth's celebration until Wednesday. The kids were very upset. After talking with him and me reviewing the order of protection, Julius called Ken back and told him that I was allowing these visits and that it was ok. Ken still didn't want to see them.
I offered visits on Saturday, Sunday and Monday - all were refused by Ken.

OP - Day 2
No calls or texts from Ken were received by me.
I repeatably reminded the children during the day to text him or call me to check on him. They did not until later on.
Around 2pm, I asked the children if they wanted to spend the evening or some time with their dad and they said yes. Julius called him and asked him could they meet him at McDonalds. Per Julius, Ken said that he did not want to see them right now because he was still mad. The children were disappointed.
Around 7pm, Daphnee called Ken from her new cell phone and had the call via speakerphone while I was with her in the boys bedroom. She asked him if they could come over to his house to which he responded that he could not be around me, therefore did not want them to come over. I quietly told Daphnee that I could drop them off in front of the house and she repeated that to Ken who once again told her that he didn't want them to come over. At that point, after Daphnee asked why, he proceeded to tell her that because I had an order of protection against him that he could not see them or be around me. Daphnee was on the verge of tears because for the second time in the day, Ken said that he did not want to see them.
At 7:20pm, I texted John C. to inform him to let Ken know that because he mentioned the court order to Daphnee over the phone, he could be in violation. A couple of texts between John and I followed.
At 8:33pm the children received a text from Ken saying "I love you" to which they all responded. Around 8:40pm we drove by the Idlewild home while dropping off Kenneth's friend home and the garage door was open, both vehicles in, light on. On the way back, nothing changed except the lights were off in the garage. As of 10pm, no additional texts/calls were exchanged between Ken and the children.

OP - Day 1
Ken texted me at 8:18am "Hi", not knowing about the order of protection. I did not answer his text. I received 3 phone calls from the Cook County Sheriff Department on Friday April 23, 2010 (10:20am, 12:48pm, 1:34pm) to inform me that the summons would be delivered to Ken that evening and that the children will be removed from his care during that time also. That I should be present to receive the children.
At 6pm, I received a call from the female deputy to inform me that they were on their way to Homewood and should be there around 7pm. At 7:02 I received a phone stating that they were 2 minutes form his house.
I arrived at Idlewild home around 7:06pm and parked behind the Sheriff's car. Ken and the children were outside. The children got their stuff from the house and got in the car. Ken was trying to talk to me but the deputies reminded him that he had to be quiet and was not allowed to talk to me. At 7:11pm I was told by the deputies that I could leave and took the children home. Ken was still in front of the house with the court order in hands talking to the deputies.
Ken did not call or text the children that night. Daphnee called him.

Order of Protection
On April 22, 2010 at 2:38pm, I was granted an order of protection against Ken for myself and the children for 21 days by Judge Rivera at the Daley Center, room 1908. During this time, Ken is not allowed to have any unlawful contacts with me. He is not allowed near by home on Ashland, both my work addresses in Alsip and in Chicago and my car (2009 Toyota Camry). I was granted physical custody of the children and visitation is changed to Wednesday night and Saturday night with no overnight during the week. Ken is restricted to not discuss the divorce case with the children or to badly talk about me to them. Next court day is scheduled for May 13, 2010 at 9:30am in Markham. The order of protection is valid until that day at 5pm.
